SweeperAlarm Privacy Policy

Effective: March 27, 2023

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, protect, and share your personal information through our services

  • We care a lot about privacy. Respecting user privacy is a key part of what we do.
  • We don’t sell your personal information. Our business is based on subscriptions and paid products, not from selling your personal information to third parties.
  • We limit what information is required. We only need your cell phone number to send you text messages that YOU request at the frequency and time YOU request. Using the OPT system, we do not even require a password.
  • Coupon Codes. If you use a coupon code, that might identify the community you live in. If a community sponsors a coupon code, we may share the number of sign-ups for that community but not your cell phone number.

Sign-up or Opt-in Method:

There is only one way to sign up for SweeperAlarm: to go to the website, www.SweeperAlarm.com. To enter the website, you must have a cell service that can accept an OPT or two-level authentication SMS/Text message. The OPT proves you have the cell phone to which you are requesting reminder text messages be delivered. When using a desktop or tablet, you must still have the cell phone close by to receive the OPT code.

MESSAGE AND DATA RATES MAY APPLY.

Opt-out Method:

Once signed up, users can turn off or pause the sending of reminder texts at any time by:

1) On/Off toggle on the website. This saves your selections. This is the preferred method.

2) Replying to a text message with the word “Stop.” This will prevent you from receiving additional text messages. However, SweeperAlarm will continue to try sending them. If you want to start again, you must text the word “Start.” However, your preferences may not have been saved.

‍Cookies: The only cookie we place on your device is the cell number used. This allows you to select the number when revisiting the website quickly. If your system or browser removes or erases cookies, SweeperAlarm is not affected.

Third-Party Cookies and Privacy:

SweeperAlarm uses three vendors to process our operations:

1) Twilio.com processes our text messages and two-level OPT security. To quote Twilio’s website: “The Twilio customer engagement platform is built to put its users first. We diligently protect the security, privacy, and availability of our platform with intelligent software and resilient infrastructure so you can deliver secure, engaging experiences on a global scale.”

The only information we share with Twilio is your cell phone number. Here is the link to Twilio’s Privacy Notice https://www.twilio.com/legal/privacy

2) Stripe.com is used to process payments. There is no need for payment when using a coupon code from a sponsoring community. If purchasing a personal subscription, Stripe does collect your payment information and email address (to send the receipt).

Stripe’s privacy policy: https://stripe.com/privacy

3) Google Analytics - We use a tool called “Google Analytics” to collect information about use of this site. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit this site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to this site. We use the information we get from Google Analytics only to improve this site. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit this site, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy. You can prevent Google Analytics from recognizing you on return visits to this site by disabling cookies on your browser.

How Long We Keep Information: We may keep information that we collect for an unlimited period of time. If you use the Free60 day trial, we keep track of your cell phone number, so the free trial can only be used once. We may also purge cell phone numbers from time to time if they have not used the service and are not on a paid subscription plan.

This DISCLAIMER & HOLD HARMLESS extends to any partners or sponsors.
